IT Tralee is delighted to announce that Kieran Donaghy is coming on board as joint manager of the Senior Football team for the 2019/20 Academic year. Kieran will team up with Liam Brosnan (Currow), who has been at the helm for the last two years. The Senior Football team has been performing well over the last number of years & lot of work has been put into the team during that time. IT Tralee is hoping that Kieran's experience & expertise will help bring the team to the next level and to build on the success of recent years.
Kieran bring with him a wealth of experience, during an inter county career than spanned 13 years. Kieran won 4 All Ireland titles, 3 All Star Awards & a Footballer of the Year Award. Kieran also got a taste of management when he joined the backroom team of Galway Senior Hurlers for 2019 season.
Former Kerry player & 3 time All Star, Aidan O Mahony is also joining the management team this year as a selector. Aidan joins Clive O' Callaghan (John Mitchels) & Eoin O Shea (Castlegregory)
This is a very exciting time for our Senior Football team. We are very fortunate to have such an experienced management team on board as well as players of the caliber of Gavin Crowley, David Clifford, Dara Moynihan, Greg Horan, Jack Savage and Michael Potts on the panel.
Speaking after his appointment Kieran said 'I am very excited by the challenge ahead, it's my first venture into management and I learned a lot working with the Galway hurlers last year. IT Tralee is a great asset to the county and the facilities are fantastic. I can't wait to work with an amazing bunch of players and I hope we can represent the Institute as best we can.'
IT Tralee looks forward to working with Kieran, Liam and the whole management team and we wish the players & management the very best of luck for the year ahead.
