New Student Orientation 2018 will take place from Monday, 3rd September 2018 - Friday, 7th September 2018. Orientation includes issusing of Student Cards, Academic introduction meetings, Campus tours incorporating IT induction and introduction to support services available on-campus. Students will also participate in a HEA Survey . Our friendly Student Leaders will greet you when you arrive, take you to where you need to be and show you around.
The Registration segment of orientation is compulsory for all new students to the Institute. If a student for some reason is unable to attend their scheduled registration, they should contact The Admission Office by phone 066 7145638 or by firstname.lastname@example.org without delay for a brief introduction to the staff and the services.
The Institutes Student Orientation programme is centered on student community and success at the Institute. You will bond with your classmates through a variety of Orientation events while becoming familiar with the campus and resources available to you. Your Department Induction will introduce you to your lecturers and provide information about your course schedule and all the academic opportunities IT Tralee has to offer. You will meet support services available to help, support and assist you through student life and also receive demonstrations on how our IT Systems work for emailing, getting notes and keeping in touch with your academic profile and progress through the stages.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration and orientation will take place on our North Campus for all new students. Academic orientation will take place in the Campus where your program is located.
Attending college is a wonderful time in your life, a unique time, one full of new experiences, hard work and amazing opportunities to discover yourself personally and academically
Achievements will not come easy. It will take your full ability and pushing yourself to reach your goals. Set good standards for yourself early in the time and stick to them. This is your opportunity, your time and you will succeed if you apply yourself and embrace the challenge. To be a successful fresher, you must be willing to learn as you go.
Also, you will be getting a student card on the day (referred to as your student Tcard) with your picture on it - so don't forget to say cheese!
To navigate your way through orientation, we have assigned colours to programmes of study you will be given a coloured wristband when you arrive on the day and be asked to follow the schedule linked with that colour.
PLEASE NOTE: You should check back regularly before arriving, in the event that the schedule has changed since you looked at it initially.

The Institute has two campuses in Tralee. Depending on your chosen course, you will be located in either the North Campus in Dromtacker or the South Campus in Clash. For a more detailed look at our North and South Campus layout and to determine which campus you will be based on and for information on how to get to either campus.
PLEASE NOTE: Orientation for all new incoming students takes place in the North Campus.

Class timetables will be available from Tuesday, 4th September 2018 and can be accessed by logging into https://classtimes.ittralee.ie/ using your student t-number and password.

It is important that you familiarise yourself with the type of services available within the Institute, what to do if you find yourself in difficulty and how to make contact with people who can help you. It is also important to get involved and enjoy yourself during your time in IT Tralee whether that be through Sports, Societies or the Students Union. The institute also runs an F.Y.I four week programme, which begins with Welcome Week. Each week will have a themed schedule of activities to support incoming First Year Students in their personal, social and academic transition to third level at IT Tralee. For more details on FYI keep an eye on campus or ask in the students union.
At registration you will receive the Institutes Student Handbook, with full details relating to Academic Services and Student Support Services. This publication lists all information on the services provided and how to make contact.
